Who’s to blame?
A nut job walks into the Family Research Center office building and begins shooting. The man is gay and hates the FRC's position opposing gay marriage, among other things. The left wing media and anti-gun lobby would have quickly looked for a group to blame; talk radio, the Tea Party, someone. That's exactly what they did with the latest shooting in CO, remember?
Now if the right wing was to follow the same pattern, shouldn't we blame some gay and lesbian rights group like Equality Across America, or Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders? Maybe the Souther Poverty Law Center that labeled the FRC a 'hate group' or those that call for such groups to be shut down or protested against. I'm sure this whacko wouldn't have targeted the FRC if someone hadn't put the idea in his head that the Center was a hate group...
No, the only person to blame for this is the shooter himself, unless someone conspired with him to commit the act. Someone else's words are not to blame; the gun maker is not to blame, neither is the person who sold him the gun. That's it, pure and simple.
