MMF – Strange things left behind in motel rooms

People do things in hotel rooms that they normally wouldn't do at home, or where they would be easily recognized. It seems that the lower the cost of the motel room, the more likely you are to find some odd things left behind. These are things left behind in Travelodge rooms in the past few months:

A vintage railway set; that's right a toy train set valued at over $20,000. Don't you know someone had come home for a funeral, that's what they got to take from the dead guy's trailer and they were disappointed. They had paid cash and didn't leave a correct name.

Someone left a replica of Kate Middleton's wedding dress. Or at least they believe it's a replica. The material and workmanship are not shoddy, in fact there was an argument that it could be the real deal. But who thinks Kate is staying at a Travelodge in Chester Central? Unless that's where her boy toy wanted to consummate their relationship. On her wedding night?

A prenuptial agreement. Really? If you are staying at the travel lodge in Wales do you really think you need a prenup?

A hand written, in caligraphy, wedding proposal. It was wadded up and the maid you found it, along with other females reading it, thought it was the most beautiful proposal, they actually cried. But, since it was wadded up, I'd say the answer was a resounding no! Dude, hookers don't really marry their Johns.

A wedding cake. A 5' tall cake encrusted in Swarovski crystals. These had to be guests to a wedding who took the cake and then felt bad about it. Or the guy who wanted to marry his hooker was going to have the reception at a different Travelodge.

2 prosthetic legs - found at the Sunderland High Street Travelodge. I guess someone decided being pushed around in a wheelchair was much better.

A secret recipe for pasta sauce from a local restaurant chain. The recipe had been passed down for 5 generations and never leaked before. But again, if they are staying at a Travelodge, how good could it have been?

A collection of 'real' light sabers. 15 were left in a hotel room after comic con. Maybe one of the nerds actually found a girl friend and she was into Star Trek...

A mother in law. The dude had rented 2 rooms then checked out forgetting that she was still there. I have got to find out the back story on this one.

A shetland pony. Actual live pony was left standing in the bathtub. Sounds like a pretty good bachelor party.

  1. First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas
    or hints? Cheers!
